Jhon Durán has been linked with a move away from Aston Villa this summer.

Caracol Radio had a chat with the striker, who claims he’s “calm” about his future amid reports of interest from other clubs.

Chelsea were one of the clubs to have shown interest in the Aston Villa player, but they haven’t taken further steps to secure his services.

“I’m very calm on those issues, I don’t take it that way, my dad takes it differently, but it’s important to be on the radar of teams like Chelsea and others and keep working,” he said.

According to Caracol Radio, ‘everything seems to indicate’ that the 20-year-old will not be at Aston Villa beyond this window.

Earlier today, the Colombia international’s agent, Jonathan Herrera, said West Ham United have shown great interest in his client, and talks are ongoing over a potential transfer.

The striker attended a local event in Bogota, where he spoke to the local media, and ESPN Deportes have relayed his comments.

When asked about the recent reports linking him to other European clubs, the player said he remains hopeful of securing a move away from Unai Emery’s side.

“I have been very privileged because I have had many things at my young age, I take it in a very good way, I am very calm with these issues, I am always a little far from these issues, I am mostly with my family, with my friends and they are the ones who show me what comes out,” Duran explained.

“I take it very calmly with the help of my agent and my dad, we are taking everything little by little, of course that my name is being mentioned by such big teams, it is very important for my career. I’m happy that there are these rumours and let’s hope that something concrete happens.”

With both Duran and his agent publicly talking about the possibility of leaving Villa Park, Aston Villa director Monchi has a decision to make.
