Aston Villa’s decision to keep Jhon Durán in the summer window has paid off as the striker scored eight goals, including a winner against Bayern Munich, from 17 games this season.
On October 7th, Aston Villa rewarded the Colombia international with a new deal until 2030, and he’s scored two goals from eight games for Unai Emery’s side since then.
The 20-year-old started in Colombia’s defeat to Uruguay and came off the bench in their 1-0 loss to Ecuador on Tuesday. After yesterday’s tie, the Aston Villa player spoke to reporters in the mixed zone.
According to Antena 2, both Durán and Palmeiras’ Richard Ríos got into a verbal fight with journalists.
Durán stopped to talk to the media in the mixed zone, and he’s accused him of showing arrogance when asked what was missing for Colombia in their latest defeat.
The frontman came across a little childish, asking one of the reporters “why aren’t you a coach?”.
Antena 2 state a national team official had to take Durán away from the mixed zone, probably to stop him from digging a deeper hole.
