In the past couple of days, reports from the Brazilian media have been saying there are two clubs interested in signing Aston Villa striker Wesley Moraes. Those are Palmeiras and São Paulo.
The 25-year-old, who’s having a loan spell at Club Brugge, isn’t getting enough minutes in Belgium and could apparently have his time cut short to go play somewhere else.
Now as journalist Jorge Nicola features a video with an update on the situation, he claims that Wesley has a preference in case both clubs come for his signing.
It’s said the striker would rather join Palmeiras, who are ‘more organised’, ‘have better financial conditions’ and ‘have more chances of fighting for titles’.
However, Palmeiras are still to submit their bid for him, as recent reports only claim Wesley is ‘on their radar’. That’s a different situation with São Paulo, who already placed their offer for a loan with an option to buy.
According to Nicola, the player and his agents will wait for a few more days and see if the Verdão make their attempt. In case they don’t, a move to the Tricolor is said to be the ‘alternative’.
Wesley has a contract with Aston Villa running until 2024, and is still recovering from a knee surgery he went through last year.
