Aston Villa, Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth are all in the picture to sign Getafe’s Christantus Uche.
That’s at least what Mundo Deportivo are reporting, and they indicate his displays have seen Aston Villa, Newcastle and Bournemouth take notice.
The 21-year-old arrived at the La Liga side from lower division side AD Ceuta FC in the summer window.
Getafe manager José Bordalás has used Uche as a striker and an attacking midfielder this season. He scored only one goal from 11 league games.
Even though his statistics aren’t impressive at all, the Nigerian has managed to catch the attention of the Premier League trio.
It’s claimed Aston Villa, Newcastle and Bournemouth are all in the ‘pole position’ to sign the attacker. His contract lasts until 2028, with an option for another year.
Despite this, the report states his ‘days are numbered’ at the Spanish club because of the Premier League interest.
Mundo add the English clubs will be ‘bidding hard’ for him in January, and name Aston Villa, Newcastle and Bournemouth. These teams will be battling for Uche’s signature in the winter market.
It needs to be seen whether this claim will be backed up or denied by the English press.
