Aston Villa’s Tony Xia has been named in Europe’s top ten crazy owners by Foxsports. Xia only bought the Championship side in the summer, but has failed to turn the club’s fortunes around so far this season.

Foxsports have labelled Aston Villa’s new owner extravagant for the way he’s come across in the first few months at the club. They highlight Xia bringing up with Maoist speeches as he tries to assert his control his at Aston Villa, including his dressing room talk the players before the recent game against Preston North End.

Xia is already looking for a new manager after Roberto DI Matteo left the club after the defeat to Preston, and has been described as a megalomaniac.

“Before the game against Preston, a match that cost the Di Matteo his job after just 124 days, he projected a speech in the locker room. Some call him a pioneer, others a megalomaniac.”

Despite breaking the Championship transfer record when they bought Jonathan Kodjia from Bristol City for £15m, Aston Villa have continued to struggle this season. The West Midlands side have won just one league game in the current campaign, and currently lie 19th in the Championship table after eleven games.
