Despite the little time left until the transfer deadline, Douglas Luiz is still ‘hoping’ for a move out of Aston Villa this summer, according to reports from Brazil.
Goal Brasil writes that even though the 24-year-old hasn’t been contacted regarding a move yet, there’s still a chance he could leave the Villa Park.
The first reason for it are Douglas Luiz’s wishes, as it’s said that because he has been an important player in Steven Gerrard’s side, he won’t make it public, but he does have the desire of moving to an ‘European giant’ this window.
And what makes it possible is that Aston Villa won’t make a big effort to hold onto him.
In fact, they’d actually demand a quite reasonable fee to let him go, requesting between €12m and €15m.
Goal recalls that Douglas Luiz has been linked to Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool in the past few days, but don’t seem to have any information on who would actually make a bid to Aston Villa and sign him that close to the deadline.
The Brazilian’s contract with the club expires next year.
