Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is an admirer of Leeds United’s Weston McKennie.
The American joined the Whites on loan from Juventus in the winter market and Leeds have an option to buy him for €34.5m plus bonuses in the summer.
According to Tuttosport, the midfielder will not be redeemed by Leeds and is expected to return to the Serie A side. This would allow Aston Villa to make an approach for him.
There’s belief the Argentina international, who has a deal until 2027, could change clubs in the next window. He has several suitors, including the Old Lady, and is valued at €30m.
It’s claimed Juve have found a way to get a ‘huge discount’ to sign the Aston Villa player and that’s by including McKennie, who won’t be redeemed by Leeds, as part of the deal.
Tuttosport provide no reasons why Javi Gracia’s side won’t retain the midfielder.
