Philippe Coutinho and his entourage have been debating his future with Aston Villa for weeks as he looks to remain in Brazil.
That’s according to O Sao Goncalo, who say work is underway to extend the midfielder’s loan deal at Vasco, which expires on June 30th.
Coutinho wants to stay with the Brazilian club but the negotiations with Aston Villa is considered ‘complex’ at this moment in time. Vasco are optimistic they can reach a new agreement and hope the midfielder’s desire convinces Villa.
In fact, they think his desire to stay will be fundamental to unlocking the negotiations. Coutinho and his entourage have been debating with Aston Villa over his future. His current deal runs until June 2026.
Vasco would like to secure a new loan with the Premier League side but have not ruled out signing Coutinho permanently if he terminates his contract at Aston Villa.
Coutinho, for his part, has insisted publicly that he isn’t concerned about the matter and Vasco president Pedrinho has insisted he will do everything he can to secure the midfielder one again.
Work is underway on that front, with a deadline of the end of next month now seemingly pushing everyone to speed things up.
