Aston Villa are set to offer a new deal to goalkeeper Oliwier Zych, according to Meczyki in Poland.

The Premier League side took the 20-year-old from Polish side Zagłębie Lubin for their academy in 2020.

Zych climbed through the ranks over the years but hasn’t yet made his first team debut for Aston Villa.

Last season, the Villans sent the stopper out on loan to Puszcza Niepołomice, where he kept seven clean sheets and conceded 35 goals from 26 games.

His performances convinced Poland manager Michał Probierz to include Zych in the squad for the Euros. That was unfortunately blocked because the Aston Villa man picked up an injury and returned to Villa Park in the summer.

Unai Emery has included Zych in his squad on a few occasions this season, without giving him any minutes.

The manager is said to see the Poland U21 international as a ‘talented player’ capable of fighting for No.1 spot in the future. This is proved by the new deal that the player will land ‘soon’.

It’s claimed Zych will sign a new deal ‘by the end of the year’. There’s no mention of the details of contract, including until when he will commit his future to Aston Villa.
