Aston Villa defender Kosta Nedeljkovic appears to consider the club as being in his past, as he now looks to make a mark at RB Leipzig.
BILD cover a short interview with the Aston Villa defender today in which he appears to suggest that he considers Leipzig as his new permanent home.
The youngster is currently on loan with the German side after joining them from Aston Villa at the end of the January transfer window.
The loan deal includes an option to make the move permanent for €10m, although that will depend on how Nedeljkovic gets on between now and the end of the season.
Early signs are positive, though, and SportBILD report that Leipzig are pleased with the 19-year-old so far, knowing they got a good footballer but also a ‘completely impeccable guy’ with a good upbringing.
The Serbian has already booked in to start German lessons and wants to get up and running as quickly as possible after ‘losing six months’ at Aston Villa this season.
Indeed, he is seemingly looking on his time at Villa Park as being done and dusted, at least if his latest comments are anything to go by.
“It was a good experience to play in the Premier League,” he said.
“I was only 18 years old, played ten games, plus the test matches. It was the first time I had left Serbia: a different country, a different language, a different culture.
“Now the most important thing for me is that I play. I know that I can play here – ideally every game.”
