Aston Villa scout Juanfrand García has left the club to take up the vacant manager’s position at Spanish side Lugo.
That’s according to Grada 3, who, citing a report from Radio Marca, say the Spanish second division side have moved quickly to secure his signature after sacking Curro Torres yesterday.
The Aston Villa man will be the club’s third coach this season, with Torres having replaced Eloy Jiménez earlier in the season.
The former Valencia player has been with Villa since 2018, after leaving Spain’s international setup, acting as the club’s scout for Spain and Portugal under the leadership of Villa’s sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch.
He is now set to move into his first managerial role, though, with it stating he left his duties at Aston Villa on Monday, and closed a ‘pre-agreement’ with Lugo.
His task will be to keep them in the second division, with his new side currently sitting in the relegation zone and three points from safety.
