Following Jonathan Kodjia’s latest injury, Aston Villa are looking for a striker in January, and everyone knows that.
Their alleged interest in Leonardo Ulloa emphasised this, yet they are also looking outside of the United Kingdom for the right man.
That is, at least, what RMC Sport are reporting on Friday, claiming the Villains have taken an interest in Strasbourg’s Stéphane Bahoken, currently used as a rotation option by the promoted Ligue 1 side this season.
The 25-year-old only has nine starts to his name so far, and the French outlet reveal Aston Villa would be interested in loaning him until the end of the current campaign.
However, Strasbourg aren’t exactly keen on doing this due to the fact Bahoken’s contract with the Ligue 1 outfit runs out in the summer, which could complicate the details of the loan deal.
This means that if he did go on loan, Villa could also, in the process, negotiate a deal for him to join them permanently in June free of charge.
That would also be bad business.
