Aston Villa are showing an interest in KV Oostende defender Bruno Godeau, according to claims in the Belgian media. Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce will be looking to bring in players in what will be his first transfer window with the Championship side.
Voetbal Nieuws have revealed Aston Villa are keen on Godeau, and the English side have a good chance of landing the former Belgian U21 international. Bruce will looking to bolster his defence this month and the 24 year old defender is an option.
Godeau showed some impressive form last season which brought him to the attention of West Ham United, but he’s struggled to hold a regular place in Oostende’s starting eleven in this campaign.
Godeau came through the Anderlecht youth system, but never went on make an appearance for the Belgian giants. The central defender had spells with Zulte Waregem and Westerlo before signing for Oostende last year.
Godeau has seven Belgian U21 caps.
