According to reports today Aston Villa are showing an interest in Chievo Verona forward Samuel Bastien.
The Belgian youngster has previously been linked with a move to England, following reported interest from Liverpool before his move to Italy.
The Birmingham Mail have reported Aston Villa are monitoring Bastien, as Steve Bruce looks at the possibility of bringing in new recruits in this window.
It’s said the youngster has caught the eye of the Championship side with his performances for Chievo since his arrival in Verona in 2016, and could be an option for Bruce.
It’s also been claimed Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town could provide competition to Aston Villa for the 21 year old.
We covered reports in 2016 that Liverpool were in the race to sign Bastien before he made the decision to head to Serie A.
At the time it was suggested Liverpool had tabled a bid for the Belgian, but this was denied by his agent when Sport Witness contacted him.
