Aston Villa or Leicester City would be the perfect destination for Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha this summer.
That’s according to analyst Filip Joos, who believes that it will be tough for Anderlecht to keep hold of the forward.
Nmecha has been on loan in Belgium since the summer and made a big impression, with the six-foot striker bagging 14 goals and three assists in 31 league games.
He is set to return to Manchester City now the season is over, although his future is yet to be decided.
He has just a year left on his deal at the Etihad, so Manchester City will need to decide whether to extend that contract or sell to ensure he doesn’t leave on a free transfer next year.
Anderlecht are pushing to get him back and seem willing to spend to do so, but Joos believes that will be difficult, with the likes of Aston Villa or Leicester more likely destinations.
“Logic dictates no”, Sporza report him saying when asked about Anderlecth getting him back.
“Vincent Kompany can have a positive effect, but does that help? Anderlecht will ‘only’ play Conference League next season.
“I don’t think City will draft Nmecha next season. Such teams want another intermediate step.
“Then I think of Leverkusen in Germany. Or Aston Villa or Leicester City in England. If it comes to Brentford or Southampton, Nmecha will also think twice.
“There are already players of lesser quality sold for more money. Therefore: Anderlecht, scrape your money together for Nmecha.
“For 8 million, you think about it, don’t you? Especially after the capital increase. Although I don’t understand a lot of it.”
