There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Aston Villa are again showing an interest in Besiktas midfielder Ernest Muci and could use Lucas Digne as part of a deal.

The Premier League side have been linked with the player in recent months after he impressed against them in Europe last season.

Aslinda today report Aston Villa and Besiktas are in transfer talks over a possible swap deal involving Muci and Digne. The Black Eagles are also requesting a fee for their player, who only signed for them during the last window, costing €10m.

Muci doesn’t look to be in the long-term plans of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and subsequently they are looking to offload the Albanian international this summer. The attacking midfielder was an unused substitute at the weekend during the opening game of the season.

We covered reports in May that the English side are monitoring the situation with the player. He impressed when Aston Villa played Legia Warsaw in the Europa Conference League last season.

He made 17 appearances for the Super Lig side last season, scoring four goals. Muci is contracted to Besiktas until June 2027.

Whether Digne would want to part of the deal is questionable, although it could obviously be done without him.
