Aston Villa sent an official to the match between Benfica and Dinamo Kiev on Tuesday evening, along with many visitors from other clubs around Europe.

Whilst most of the players would be out of Villa’s range, unless they got promotion, that hasn’t stopped another visit to a Portuguese Champions League game. The same Portuguese newspaper now reveals Villa had someone at FC Porto’s game as well.

On Wednesday evening Porto welcomed Club Brugge, and beat them thanks to a goal from 20 year old Andre Silva. He’s been impressing very much recently and has a buyout clause of €60m… so forget about it.

Aston Villa were linked with the Belgian striker repeatedly last year, but he decided to join Porto instead, which is fair enough really. Depoitre didn’t get off the bench last night for Porto and if he’s a bit part player at the end of the season then an exit may well be what the 27 year old wants.
