As Aston Villa striker Wesley Moraes continues to draw a big race for his signing in Brazil, journalist Jorge Nicola now comes up with a video explaining how the competition for his transfer stands.
The player, who is currently having a loan spell at Belgian side Club Brugge, could now head back to his home country as he looks for more minutes. And there are now four clubs who want him.
Nicola explains the situation club by club, and the latest side to join this race is said to be Corinthians. They got in touch to know the conditions of a deal, with no official bid made yet.
Another club who recently got involved in the competition were Internacional, with the journalist saying they’ve ‘come very strong’ for the signing and are working to get him.
Now the other two sides in the battle, Palmeiras and São Paulo, appear to be in more advanced stages to land the 25-year-old.
Nicola claims that São Paulo already have Aston Villa’s approval for a one-year loan, where the Premier League side will pay most of his wages. The Tricolor now wait to get to a deal with Wesley’s agent and are also waiting for his medical, as the recovery from his knee injury is a subject which deserves attention.
Meanwhile, Palmeiras have been speaking to his representative since Tuesday, as manager Abel Ferreira now approved the signing. It’s said the Verdão even have the results of recent medical tests.
This battle is certainly interesting for Aston Villa, who’ll have many options on the table to choose from. Wesley has a deal with the club running until 2024, and is in need of playing more to show he’s fully recovered from knee surgery.
