Aston Villa have turned their attention to AC Milan to try and replace both Tom Heaton and Wesley this month, according to claims today.
Villa lost both players to long-term injuries this month, a huge blow to their survival hopes and one they will need to try and overcome with additions in the transfer window.
They’ve turned their attention to Milan to do so, with SportMediaset reporting they are interested in signing striker Krzysztof Piątek and goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
According to the report, Aston Villa chiefs have already met with Milan to discuss a move for Piątek and put forward a proposal to buy the player outright for a figure between €28m and €30m.
Milan want at least €30m for the player they bought from Genoa for €35m in the January transfer window last season.
At this minute Reina appears only to be a player that Villa are looking at to solve their goalkeeping issue, with the report only stating they are ‘interested’ in the Spaniard.
There is no suggestion of what price they would look to pay or whether Milan would be willing to sell the 27-year-old, just that Aston Villa have him on their list of potential replacements for the stricken Heaton.
