According to an exclusive report from Futbol Arena, Premier League side Aston Villa are interested in signing Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The Senegalese striker was on the verge of joining Qatari side Al Rayyan but he couldn’t agree on personal terms with the Middle East club and Futbol Arena said there’s a decent chance he could join England top-tier new boys Aston Villa instead.
Galatasaray board member Sukru Haznedar is currently in London for transfer talks as the Turkish champions have been linked with a move for Chelsea duo Tiemoué Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater.
Futbol Arena claim Haznedar will also meet with Aston Villa in London for Diagne and this information is also confirmed by Hurriyet’s Galatasaray reporter Ali Naci Kucuk.
It’s reported the Turkish club are looking to get €13m for Diagne and the former Kasimpasa player is also keen to continue his career in Europe.
The 27-year-old was the top scorer in Turkish Süperlig last season with 30 goals and is under contract at Turk Telekom Arena until June 2023.
