Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo highlights Aston Villa’s interest in Barcelona winger Ferran Torres.
The website’s story is about the player spending a week focused on a charity project he has, offering sporting and academic lessons to kids.
The piece, however, ends up claiming Torres has a chance to leave Barcelona this summer, as Aston Villa ‘don’t forget him’.
Unai Emery’s side are said to be ‘considering’ making an offer to sign the 23-year-old. They’d like to bring him to England on a loan with a purchase option worth €25m.
There are a couple of factors which play against Aston Villa’s potential offer. First, that Barcelona are ‘not seduced’ by a loan, and the attacker doesn’t want a ‘change of scenery’ at this time.
Still, there are some reasons to believe a deal would be possible. Firstly, because the La Liga giants live in a complicated financial situation, and a bid for an immediate purchase would end up being attractive. Then Torres would fancy having regular minutes somewhere else, and the English side could end up offering him that.
