Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey has ended up in Aston Villa’s sights, according to a report from Turkey.
The right-back joined the Turkish club from Rennes in 2021 and struggled with form and fitness last season. His situation has improved and he’s been a regular for his side this season, making 22 appearances so far.
Boey played the full 90 minutes in Galatasaray’s 1-0 win at home over Kasımpaşa on March 11th, and Aston Villa had their scouts in the attendance to watch him live in action.
That’s according to Takvim, who state the Frenchman has been approached by the Villans.
Crystal Palace have been following the 22-year-old and are now joined by Aston Villa, who are ‘closely interested’ in signing him.
Sporting and Lyon were earlier named as the fullback’s suitors. The Ligue 1 side even saw their €8m bid turned down by the Istanbul club.
Boey has become one of the fan favourites at Galatasaray and is also an ‘indispensable’ player for his manager, Okan Buruk.
With Aston Villa joining others in showing interest in Boey, Takvim state the Galatasaray manager will ‘make the final decision’ on the player.
