Aston Villa could be presented with a new opportunity to sign Rennes’ Adrien Truffert in the summer, if a report from L’Equipe is to be believed.
The left-back came up through the ranks of the Ligue 1 side’s youth system before finding his way into their first team in 2020. He’s been a regular and also impressed for them this season, managing seven assists from 38 matches.
According to the newspaper, Rennes leaders are expected to receive a few approaches for the 21-year-old and Aston Villa could be in the mix.
That’s mainly because Unai Emery made an attempt to acquire the defender’s services in the winter market. The Villans made a €15m proposal for him, but it was turned down by Rennes.
If Aston Villa were to return with a similar offer for the fullback in the summer, L’Equipe claim it would be accepted by the French club.
Inter Milan are also following the France international’s situation closely. Despite this, the Premier League side have an advantage in the transfer chase because England seems to be Truffert’s next destination.
