Aston Villa are ‘not letting go’ of Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara as they work hard to try and secure his signature this summer.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who say Steven Gerrard’s side are ‘trying to make their move’ for the highly coveted midfielder.
Kamara has established himself as a key player for the French side in the last few years, with a series of impressive performances in Ligue 1.
His displays have not gone unnoticed, and he has a long list of clubs in Europe chasing his signature as a result, particularly as his contract is set to expire this summer.
That means he’s available on a free transfer, making the midfielder a potential bargain for whatever sides manages to secure him.
There is a long queue, but it is Aston Villa who have emerged as the strongest contenders in the last few weeks, with several reports indicating they are pushing hard to get him.
Jeunes Footeux explain that they are among the big names like Juventus, Arsenal and Barcelona, who are keen and while considered a ‘less prestigious contender’ they are ‘trying to make their move’.
Gerrard is ‘keen on’ the versatile midfielder, and it is even believed he has made him a ‘priority’ for the summer transfer window, so much so Aston Villa have ‘already offered him a big contract’ to make the move to Villa Park.
Whether Kamara will be ‘tempted’ by that given the big clubs around the table, remains to be seen, but Villa are certainly trying.
