Aston Villa have joined the battle to sign Fenerbahçe star Ferdi Kadıoğlu in the summer.
The left-back has been a regular for the Istanbul club, managing three goals and four assists from 42 games. He has also been used as a right-back on a few occasions, and this versatility, coupled with his form, has caught the attention of a few clubs.
Akşam state Aston Villa are now added to this list and they are keen on securing the 24-year-old’s services.
Unai Emery currently has Álex Moreno and Lucas Digne as the two left-backs at Villa Park. Despite this, it’s claimed the manager has insisted on signing the Turkey international, and therefore, the Villans have ‘agreed to pay’ the €30m fee requested by the Süper Lig side.
It’s further claimed the Yellow Canaries’s management have ‘made an agreement’ with Aston Villa for the defender’s transfer in the next window.
Fenerbahçe are in the race to win the title and are competing for the UEFA Conference League. The Turkish club want the player to focus on their objectives until the end this season.
Emery insisting Aston Villa sign Kadıoğlu suggests Digne or Moreno could be allowed to leave in the summer.
It remains to be seen whether Akşam’s claim of Fenerbahçe’s agreement with Aston Villa will be backed up by others in Turkey and in England.
