According to a claim in the Italian media, Wolverhampton Wanderers are in pole position to sign AC Milan forward Andre Silva.

The Portugal international has been linked with a move to Wolves in recent weeks.

TMW today report Wolves are leading the way to sign Silva and can land the forward for what AC Milan paid FC Porto 12 months ago, which would be €34m.

It’s claimed with Joao Cancelo stalling on a move to the Premier League side, Wolves can use that money to step up their pursuit of Silva. Despite it seeming like speculation, TMW present it as a sure thing.

In March we covered reports from Italy that Wolves are back in the race to sign Silva after originally being linked with the 22 year old during the last transfer window.

The player is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has been brokering deals for Wolves in the past 12 months. Silva joined AC Milan in the last summer window, but may need to move after failing to make an impact in his debut season in Serie A.

These latest claims seem more motivated by hope, on behalf of AC Milan, than expectation.
