Chelsea have been dragged into Real Madrid’s alleged interest in signing Paulo Dybala from Juventus. Turin newspaper Tuttosport have an article on Monday claiming Real Madrid are looking at a ‘Plan B’ because they feel Juventus will block a Dybala exit.

That’s obviously something the Turin newspaper would like, so it’s a story they’re lapping up. Claims from Spain of Madrid being interested in Porto Andre Silva are used as basis for the idea, but why do Real Madrid even need a new striker?

Simple, Tuttosport reckon, and throw this claim in almost flippantly, that Alvaro Morata is ‘probably destined’ for Chelsea.

Antonio Conte’s wish to sign Morata during the summer was well covered, with the striker even talking about it since, so it would be no surprise if Chelsea tried again in the next window.

The problems with Diego Costa would also make Chelsea signing a striker likelier, but these claims seem like speculation. Real Madrid haven’t been scouting Porto obsessively, so their interest in Andre Silva may not be as strong as claimed.

Morata has managed just 6 La Liga starts so far this season, plus two in the Copa del Rey and one in the Champions League, so it would be understandable if he’s a little frustrated.

A further 10 substitute appearances have helped Morata score 9 goals in total, which is a good return for less than 1000 minutes spent on the pitch in total. Conte is likely to be keeping an eye on the Morata situation, pending the resolution of Costa’s situation.
