Assumption continues to see player signing for Manchester City in the summer

 

On Friday Portuguese newspaper A Bola published an article saying William Carvalho’s change of agents opened the door to a move to Manchester City.

Carvalho, who was previously with Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute group, is now with Media Base Sports, and none other than Pere Guardiola, brother of Manchester City’s manager.

That then led to claims in the English media too and the very same A Bola on Monday report that Carvalho to Manchester City is being pushed by the English media… Yes, just a couple of days after they were pushing it themselves.

The sign to take from this story is that Carvalho changing agents, and being represented by Pere Guardiola means that until the summer, and maybe beyond, there’s going to be an assumption he’s off to Manchester City.

It’s worth noting that Manchester City aren’t actively scouting Sporting at the moment, so may not be as interested, at this stage, as the Portuguese media assume they are.
