Feyenoord’s Arne Slot is one of the candidates to become Tottenham Hotspur’s next manager and this topic continues to get coverage in both the Dutch and English press.
The 44-year-old’s future at the Eredivisie side remains uncertain after he guided the club to league success this season.
However, Feyenoord assistant manager John de Wolf has made his stance clear and stressed he won’t follow Slot to Spurs, if his compatriot agrees to join the north London club.
De Wolf said this when he appeared as the guest on NPO’s program, Taxi Castricum, relayed by FR-Fans.nl.
“Then I wish him a good challenge. This is my club, this is where I belong, this is my home. I still get goosebumps every day when I drive over the bridge,” he said.
De Wolf, who was born in Rotterdam and spent time at the Dutch club during his playing career, has made it clear he has no plans to leave the city anytime soon.
With regards to Slot’s future at Feyenoord, De Wolf explained: “We didn’t talk about that at all. I have sometimes said in the early stages, don’t listen to any other club in the Netherlands anyway.”
Tottenham parted ways with Antonio Conte in March and are yet to appoint his permanent successor. They will also have to bring in a new sporting director following Fabio Paratici’s exit last month.
