Casemiro hasn’t played a minute for Manchester United over the past four Premier League games.

The Brazilian’s prominence in the side is reducing, with Manuel Ugarte becoming a key player for Ruben Amorim and Bruno Fernandes being used deeper in midfield.

No concrete offers have arrived from the Middle East for Casemiro but he could still depart Manchester United this month.

Tuttomercatoweb journalist Marco Conterio has reported that Italian side AS Roma are interested in the 32-year-old.

The Italian club have made initial contact in the past few days and a lot of the interest is down to the uncertainty involving the future of Leandro Paredes, who interests Boca Juniors.

Casemiro is currently said to be ‘open to saying goodbye’ to Manchester United and would also be interested in a move to Roma.

Whether the Giallorossi would be able to get near the midfielder’s wages remains to be seen, but an offer can arrive in the last few days of the January transfer window.

For now, AS Roma have paused their Casemiro pursuit but could reignite their efforts in the coming days.
