With Martin Ødegaard’s transfer from Real Madrid to Arsenal nearing completion, outlets around Europe are fighting to find the amounts being exchanged by the two clubs.
The latest to come out with their information are ABC in Spain, who explain the La Liga giants have ‘closed the transfer’ of the Norway international to the Emirates.
It’s said the ‘insistence’ of Mikel Arteta to get the deal done ‘has been decisive for the London club’ to spend €40m + €10m in bonuses for his services.
For Ødegaard, the move to Arsenal is an ‘option of guaranteeing himself a starter’, something ‘he has never achieved at Madrid’, where he still is under contract until 2023.
Despite the desire for him to succeed in Spain, Madrid ‘decided to accept the offer’, with the Gunners’ intention being to be able to start the midfielder against Chelsea at the weekend.
Having first arrived at Real Madrid in 2016, Ødegaard spent a lot of his time away on loan at Heerenveen, Vitesse, Real Sociedad and most recently Arsenal.
