On August 17th, we carried a report from AS, who explained Arsenal are the ‘most insistent of suitors’ for Atlético Madrid’s Thomas Partey.

Apart from the Gunners, AS didn’t mention any other clubs wanting to sign the 27-year-old this summer.

Sport on Tuesday once again talk about the north London club and state their interest in the midfielder is ‘well known’ at Atlético.

It’s also claimed Mikel Arteta’s side are now joined by Juventus in chasing the Ghana international.

The player has a €50m release clause in a contract which runs until 2023. The La Liga side have been trying to improve his wages and release clause for months, without any success so far.

According to the report, the ‘Atlético fans live hours of uncertainty’ as Partey is yet to make a decision on his future.

The newspaper states the ‘siren songs’ from Arsenal and the Turin club are now keeping Digeo Simeone’s side ‘in suspense’ over the player’s future.

Arsenal offered €25m plus Mattéo Guendouzi for Thomas Partey, but this proposal was refused by the Spanish side.

Sport add Atlético have made it clear that anyone who wishes to take Partey away from Wanda Metropolitano this summer must pay his €50m release clause.
