Having returned to Arsenal after a loan spell at Fiorentina, Lucas Torreira could leave the Emirates again this summer.

The midfielder’s agent has already revealed they have an agreement with Valencia, but the La Liga side can’t agree a deal with the Gunners.

His deal runs until 2023 and the current window is the last big opportunity for Arsenal to cash in from the 26-year-old’s sale.

The contract situation is an ‘advantage’ for his suitors, according to Il Secolo XIX, relayed by ClubDoria46.

Although the Uruguay international’s agent has been negotiating with Valencia, the report states returning to Italy remains the first choice for the Arsenal player.

There isn’t a shortage of options for Torreira and if no top club make a firm approach, then a return to Sampdoria ‘could become more than a possibility’.

Today’s Il Secolo XIX, relayed by Firenze Viola, state although the nostalgic suggestion of the South American re-joining his old club is considered, it remains unlikely the operation will go through.

Arsenal, after offering a discount, have set an €8m price tag. This figure is out of reach for Sampdoria and it looks like the deal, ‘except for the miracles’, will not take off.
