With AS Roma being linked to Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka for an entire season, it’s obviously expected that the Serie A side will go for his signing next summer.
As Gazzetta Dello Sport writes about the Giallorossi’s hunt for new acquisitions, they write the interest is ‘bouncing back’, with a few details of how much it’d take to buy him from the Gunners.
It’s said the cost of the transfer is ‘the only problem’ that concerns Roma, which is because Arsenal wanted ‘at least €18m’ for him last summer and ‘have no intention of lowering’ the price.
Since Xhaka turns 30 this year, it’s said the Serie A club won’t spend that much money on him.
However, Gazzetta Dello Sport points out the relationship between the clubs is good, and with Ainsley Maitland-Niles returning from his spell at Roma this summer, that should be another ‘opportunity to talk’ with the Gunners.
José Mourinho is strongly hoping for new signings for next season, and the club are expected to do their best to attend to his requests, although spending big on the Arsenal midfielder might not be one of them.
