Earlier today we covered a report from Corriere di Bologna which stated Tottenham ‘remain in pole position’ to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu.

There’s been some disagreement in Italy over whether Spurs are keen on signing both Cristian Romero from Atalanta and the Bologna player. Tomiyasu can play both in central defence and at right back, and that’s caused the confusion.

There’s even disagreement in the media closest to Bologna, with Il Resto del Carlino believing two other London clubs, Arsenal and West Ham, are in the picture for the signing.

Via Cuorirosso Blu, it’s stated Arsenal and West Ham are ‘testing the ground’ for Tomiyasu, which presumably means they’ve made tentative contact with either Bologna or the player’s agent. They believe that Tottenham aren’t so much in the race right now, due to the Romero signing.

Offers are expected from the Premier League, and it’s been made clear on repeat occasions that the defender would be keen on a move to English football. Now he’ll be hoping things speed up, with less than a month left of the window.
