Sevilla have beaten Premier League clubs Arsenal, West Ham United and Leicester City in the race to sign Wissam Ben Yedder, reports French newspaper L”Equipe on Monday.
Sevilla and Toulouse have agreed on a €9m deal for Yedder, who is expected to travel to Spain in the coming days to sign a five-year contract.
L’Equipe say Arsenal and West Ham had indicated their interest, and in particular the North London side who have recently been thinking about the possibility of signing Yedder. However, it doesn’t appear any Premier League clubs made bids for him in the end.
Yedder was in fine form last season scoring 17 goals in 35 league appearances, and the chance of playing in the Champions League with Sevilla should be tempting for him.
Arsenal and West Ham have been actively looking to sign a striker in the transfer market, and interest in Yedder doesn’t come as a surprise.
Estadio Deportivo report on Saturday afternoon that Yedder to Sevilla is completely agreed, again pointing out that Arsenal were interested.
