Officially rejoining Real Madrid after the Spanish club bought him back from Juventus after activating a clause in his contract, decisions still need to be made about Alvaro Morata.
The Spain international striker, who scored three goals at the Euros this summer before getting knocked out by Italy, was announced by his new (old?) club as being part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans for pre-season, but the media aren’t convinced.
Considering the lack of space across the frontline at this moment in time at Real Madrid with Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale all starters, many see Morata as better off moving somewhere else.
This would allow Real Madrid to make a profit off their player, allowing the striker to get a first-team chance somewhere else in the process.
According to France Football, Arsenal and Arsène Wenger are ‘very well positioned’ in the list of suitors, ready to place a good offer on the table for both club and player.
That being said, don’t discount Chelsea, say the French magazine, as a possible destination, especially if Real Madrid offer Morata as part of a deal for Eden Hazard, but that seems unlikely.
This feels like a regurgitation of past articles from other media, to be honest, but that doesn’t mean both clubs aren’t interested.
