Arsenal lost 3-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday and saw their Premier League title challenge crumble to dust.

There will obviously be disappointment around the Gunners, given they’ll end such a promising season without a trophy to show for it.

Progress has obviously been made, yet if they want to keep up with Manchester City, and other Premier League clubs expected to improve this summer, then they need a better squad.

On that note, Spain’s SER, via Sport, report Mikel Arteta has identified Real Madrid’s Ferland Mendy. The 27-year-old has played 26 matches for Los Blancos this season, all of those at left back.

According to the claims, Arsenal want to pay ‘no more than €20m’ for the signing, and such a figure could see Madrid agree to a summer move.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side had hoped they could get something like €40-50m for the Frenchman, but they’ve ‘revised’ their position downwards and the big suggestion is they’ll accept a reasonable offer.

Tottenham are also credited with interest, however, it’s considered Arsenal have a better chance of the signing due to their increased status after this season’s exploits.
