While Achraf Hakimi’s transfer from Inter to Paris Saint-Germain has yet to be finalised, Inter consider it all but done and are moving onto replacing the Morocco international.
Top of the list for that is Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, with many outlets reporting it, including Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.
The Italian newspaper reveal a meeting took place on Thursday between director of football Piero Ausilio and Simone Inzaghi, with Beppe Marotta joining them electronically, with the right-back position the first port of call.
For them, ‘the ideas are quite clear’, with the Arsenal defender ‘the favourite’ to fill the void left by Hakimi’s departure.
Furthermore, the big doubts surrounding his knee following the severe 2019 injury ‘have vanished’, and Inter are ‘convinced they can adapt him without major difficulties’.
Their issue, instead, is convincing the Gunners of agreeing to their train of thought, as Edu Gaspar and co. ‘want to look for buyers’ who can take him permanently ‘before opening to a loan (with the right of redemption)’.
Basically, if Arsenal cannot find anyone willing to splash the cash immediately on the Spaniard, they will be all ears to Inter’s proposal.
