January transfer rumours have already started, and Diario Gol went big over the weekend.
12 days after the end of the summer window, the Spanish website claim a James Rodriguez exit this winter could be on the cards, especially if someone comes prepared to spend around €50-60m.
There are apparently five teams who expressed an interest over the summer, and they are Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Tottenham and Arsenal.
Of those five, Monaco and Spurs are the least likely to make a move, according to the Diario Gol.
With only three remaining, Manchester United are the player’s favourite choice because of José Mourinho and the influence of Jorge Mendes, but that doesn’t mean Arsenal are out of it at all.
Diario Gol say both Paris Saint-Germain and the Gunners are viable options for the midfielder.
Of course, with Real Madrid facing a potential two transfer window ban, selling James Rodriguez could weaken the squad, and with a long season ahead, that might be a strange move.
It’s an odd rumour to start so early, but considering the Colombian international has only played 82 minutes of football so far this season, an exit might not be the worst move for his career.
Either way, we’re not convinced by this.
