Chelsea’s attempts to sign Sead Kolasinac in the January window were revealed by SportBild. Antonio Conte was said to be keen to get the Schalke player during the winter transfer window, and the same went for Juventus.
Kolasinac is a flexible defender who is primarily a left back but can also play in central defence and on the left wing, he’d be perfect for Conte’s defensive system. SportBild now say that it’s not only Chelsea and Juventus in the chase but also Arsenal.
Nacho Monreal has a similar versatility, and Arsenal also have Kieran Gibbs at left back, so there doesn’t seem any immediate need for Arsene Wenger to sign Kolasinac, but that the Bosnian is free in the summer could prove a temptation.
Schalke still hold out some hope of a renewal, but that surely has to be fading the closer time gets towards the end of June, and the end of Kolasinac’s contract.
The Turin media have seemed pretty confident that Juventus will get the player, but Chelsea and Arsenal are very stiff competition. It would be no surprise to see other Premier League clubs dragged into the reported chase between now and the summer, or between now and when Kolasinac agrees a contract with a new club.
