Besiktas president Fikret Orman, the club’s head of transfers Ali Naibi and manager Senol Gunes were in the stands at Wembley to watch Cenk Tosun’s Everton debut against Tottenham Hotspur.
After Tottenham’s 4-0 victory, Fanatik report Besiktas Orman met with the representatives of Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck with regards to a possible move to Istanbul in this transfer window.
Fanatik say talks with Welbeck’s agent were positive, and with Orman now back in Turkey, Naibi will conduct further discussions for the Arsenal forward.
Fanatik claim Besiktas manager Senol Gunes wants to see Welbeck in his team, as he believes the Arsenal player has similar attributes to Cenk Tosun.
The England international has suffered his injury problems since arriving at the Emirates, and he could be looking for a new challenge.
It’s also been reported if Besiktas fail to get an agreement with Arsenal then they may look to Leicester City forward Islam Slimani.
