After reporting Juventus’ interest in signing Alexis Sanchez this summer, Tuttosport have an interesting article on Tuesday explaining the whole situation.
The newspaper claim that Juve are aware that Sanchez wants to go back to Italy, as this would be the right time for them to sign the player who they already tried for in 2011 and 2014.
Tuttosport think Sanchez would cost between €40m and €45m, and the newspaper believe Juventus’ recent financial success and market plan allow the club to make such investment in a top player.
He would arrive to replace Álvaro Morata, who has just left Juventus to join Real Madrid for €30m, so the price isn’t considered too big after the money they got with the sale.
But Sanchez’s future will be decided by Arsene Wenger. Tuttosport claims that after missing out on Jamie Vardy and Álvaro Morata, the French manager still looks for a striker and doesn’t even think of losing such an important attacking player.
The Chilean international is expected to talk with Wenger after he returns from vacation and makes the situation more clear. The manager would try to keep Sanchez by offering a new contract, and as Juventus think it’s possible that the player will accept it, the Italian club are already keeping an eye on other options.
And €40m to €45m? Maybe Tuttosport are being a little optimistic on behalf of Juventus.
