Valencia’s sudden rush forward to get Gabriel Paulista over the line is likely to see results quickly, if the Spanish media are to be believed.
On Wednesday it was reported around Spain that Paulista is close to moving from Arsenal to Valencia, and AS now give their take.
In their Thursday edition, the Spanish newspaper say Paulista to Arsenal will be done ‘in the next few hours’, and that Valencia are about to make the signing official.
Paulista will arrive in Valencia soon, if he hasn’t already done so, and start going through all the formalities to complete his transfer from Arsenal.
Valencia continue to look to offload more than one central defender, but haven’t waited to do so before working on the Paulista signing from Arsenal.
AS don’t mention a transfer fee, but reports on Wednesday put the cost at not too much over €10m.Gabriel Paulista has been a reasonable signing for Arsenal, providing some depth in the club’s squad. However, the Brazilian has never been a major player for Arsene Wenger, and will hope he gets more prominence at Valencia.
It’s a World Cup year, he has a dream.
