According to reports in the Dutch media Willem II have secured the signing of Arsenal midfielder Daniel Crowley. The 19 year old has just 12 months left on his contract with Arsenal, so his future was inevitably under question.
BD.nl report Crowley has travelled to the Netherlands ahead of signing a three year contract with the Dutch side. The youngster is expected to today have his medical before his transfer to Willem is made official.
Crowley joined Arsenal from Aston Villa’s youth academy in 2014, but has failed to make the breakthrough at the Emirates. During his time at Arsenal the midfielder was loaned out to Barnsley, Oxford United, and Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles.
Playing in the Netherlands last season with Go Ahead Eagles will give Crowley the experience needed in his new adventure at Willem. In total the then Arsenal player made 16 appearances for the Dutch side on loan last season, scoring 2 goals.
