One of the best and most consistent performers in Ligue 1 this season, Jean-Michaël Seri is a very wanted man this summer, with a host of clubs queuing up to acquire his services.
Reports from France suggested he might be interested in continuing with his current club, Nice, for next season as they try and make it to the group stages of the Champions League, yet the list of names wanting him could change his mind.
At first, the likes of Everton and Leicester were the only ones reportedly interested, but when clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Tottenham were also claimed to join the hunt, things got a lot more interesting.
Mundo Deportivo held an interview with the 25-year-old for their Friday edition, and within that, there were multiple mentions from the player that there is one club he dreams to play for, and that is Barcelona.
Of course, for that to happen, the Catalan side would need to be interested, and while there have been rumblings that could be the case, nothing concrete has emerged yet.
However, the daily newspaper does claim that both Mauricio Pochettino and Arsène Wenger are currently leading the race for his signature.
With Nice likely to sell around the €25m mark, it wouldn’t be surprising if Tottenham and Arsenal were indeed after him considering he is a complete midfielder, capable of providing both defensive cover and an attacking threat, exemplified by his six goals and nine assists this season.
We fully expect more from this to emerge in the coming weeks, but with a game left in the season of all these clubs, finishing the season strongly will be what’s most important at this stage, including for Seri’s Nice.
