On July 4th, AS reported Arsenal are keen on signing Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and are willing to invest around €90m to secure his services this summer. They also reported the Gunners have been in contact with his entourage since before the end of last season.

There’s been a new twist in this case as Arsenal have decided to walk away from signing the 24-year-old.

That’s according to Cadena Ser, and they report the forward ‘moves away from Arsenal’.

Cadena Ser have found out from sources close to the Premier League club that it’s ‘becoming very complicated’ to sign the Real Madrid player.

The transfer is not impossible, but the chances now look very slim. This is because Arsenal have decided to strengthen their attack with both Chelsea’s Noni Madueke and Sporting star Viktor Gyökeres.

Madueke seems close to sealing a move to the Emirates while the north London club are working on reaching an agreement with Sporting. Therefore, the option for Rodrygo to join Mikel Arteta’s side is now closed.

Liverpool have shown concrete interest in Rodrygo, who has to either join them or wait for other clubs, if he wants to leave Real Madrid.
