Arsenal have moved to tie goalkeeper Alexei Rojas to a new deal that will see him moved into the first team picture next season.
That’s according to AS Colombia, who report that Arsenal are keen to keep the 19-year-old and have secured him to a new deal as a sign of their faith in him.
The newspaper reports that Rojas’ present and future will lie at Arsenal as he has signed a new contract that will help him take a step closer towards his goal of making his debut in the Arsenal first team.
An official announcement is on the way but AS Colombia have learned that the new contract has already been signed, and he will be a part of Mikel Arteta’s squad during the 2025/26 season. The Gunners have improved his contract terms, but it is not explained how.
Negotiations to extend his contract have been ongoing for weeks after Arsenal’s directors expressed their interest in renewing his deal. Meetings were then held with the player’s entourage to achieve this.
Now both parties firmly have an eye on the future, when the plan is to promote Rojas to Arsenal’s first team as competition for David Raya.
