Despite Manchester United seemingly at the front of the queue to try and sign João Félix, Arsenal are giving it a good go as well, it seems.

The Gunners, who have lost Gabriel Jesus for the foreseeable future to injury, want to bolster their frontline some more in January, either by signing a striker or someone like the Portuguese.

Atlético Madrid have made it clear they would be open to listening to offers, but it’s clear they won’t let him go for cheap, as the World Cup has helped to increase his dwindling value somewhat.

Corriere dello Sport look at how some players have been affected by their performances during the international tournament, and focus on the Portugal star for a little bit.

They point out that the phone of Jorge Mendes, Félix’s agent’, is ‘hot’ and he has decided to ‘take his client away’ from the La Liga side.

The representative is reportedly ‘in talks’ with a number of clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Bayern Munich, while Chelsea are said to be adding competition from the Premier League, even though everything points to them signing Christopher Nkunku in the near future.

Either way, this sounds like good news for fans of the Gunners who like the idea of Félix signing for their club, as Mikel Arteta looks to push on following a great start to the 2022-23 campaign.

Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League, five points ahead of Manchester City.
