Sent to Arsenal and Southampton in the past, Axel Disasi has a choice to make this summer.
The centre-back has one year left on his contract at Stade de Reims, and while the club are prepared to let him go this summer, they won’t do so for cheap.
L’Union on Friday remind everyone the Ligue 1 side want a minimum of €15m for their player, which is coincidentally is the amount Wolverhampton Wanderers were reported to have bid for him by L’Equipe.
It wasn’t said if the offer had been accepted, which will be good news for both Arsenal and Southampton.
We say this because L’Union also report that the Gunners and the Saints are ‘still in the race’ for the 22-year-old.
Arsenal reportedly made an offer last January, while Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side travelled to ‘supervise’ the player numerous times before the Covid-19 pandemic.
As for Disasi in all this, the ‘choice of his heart’ is said to be Sevilla, but he will find himself battling for a starting spot with fierce competition such as Jules Koundé and Diego Carlos.
Reims are reportedly ‘serene’ about the situation, and the defender ‘doesn’t want to rush’.
Expect this one to drag on a bit.
